New Delhi: The number of Indians giving up citizenship has increased significantly in the last few years| The number of Indians giving up citizenship was 1,33,049 in 2017 and has increased to 1,83,741 five years later by October 31, 2022.
Minister of State for External Affairs. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Muraleedharan said the number of people who gave up their Indian citizenship in 2015 was 1,31,489, 1,41,603 in 2016, 1,33,049 in 2017, 1,34,561 in 2018, 1,44,017 in 2019, 85,256 in 2020 and 85,256 in 2020.
