Lambi: Barely ten days after a crushing defeat in Assembly elections, Shiromani Akali Dal patriarch and five-time chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, on Sunday visited his home turf Lambi constituency for thanksgiving visit.

“Such things happen in politics and he will continue to work for welfare of Punjab and its people,” Badal said during the visit.

He further said that defeat and victory is a part of life. The country’s then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had also lost the election after the Emergency. The people have elected the Aam Aadmi Party government with the desire for change

Just like Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government in 2017, AAP has also formed the government by deceiving people with glittering promises.

” Time will tell whether the government lives up to its promises or proves to be a pack of lies like the Amarinder government,” Badal said asking Akali workers to stand firm towards public interest at the grassroots level.

Badal started a thanksgiving tour from his native village Badal. He arrived at Gaggar, Mithri Budhgir and Fatuhiwala today to thank the people on Sunday.
