Mumbai: At least 10 people were killed and several others injured when a private bus collided with a truck on the Nashik-Ahmednagar highway in Maharashtra this morning, police said.
Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ordered an inquiry. The private luxury bus was on its way to Shirdi in Ahmednagar district from Ambernath in Thane district, police officials said.
The accident took place around 6.30 am near Pathare Shivar in Sinnar tehsil of Nashik, 180 km from Mumbai.
