Shaheed Naib Subedar Jaswinder Singh cremated with full Military honors at his native village

Kapurthala: Shaheed Naib Subedar Jaswinder Singh was cremated today with full military honors at his native village Mana Talwandi in kapurthala.

Jaswinder Singh, who was awarded the Sena Medal for Bravery, was made supreme sacrifice in Jammu and Kashmir a few days ago.

His body was brought by the Indian Army with full honors to Mana Talwandi village this morning, where thousands of people including Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh, administration, police and senior officers of the Indian Army paid tribute to the martyrdom of Jaswinder Singh.

Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal, SSP Kapurthala Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh and District Sainik Welfare Officer Col. Dalwinder Singh paid tributes to Shaheed Jaswinder Singh.

Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal also handed over the condolence message sent by the Governor of Punjab Banwarilal Purohit to the family members of Shaheed Jaswinder Singh.

Terming the courage shown by Jaswinder Singh as unparrarlred Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjit Singh said that as per the announcement made by the Punjab Chief Minister, the family of Shaheed Jaswinder Singh would be given Rs 50 lakh as EX gratia grant besides a government job to the family members of Jaswinder singh.

Describing the sacrifice of Jaswinder Singh as a beacon for the younger generation, he said that the people of Punjab have inherited a deep legacy of sacrifice for the security of the country. He also urged the Union Government to extend maximum assistance to the family of Shaheed Jaswinder Singh.

On this occasion MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira from Bhulath, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur, District Planning Board Chairman Anoop Kallan, SDM Dr. Jay Inder Singh, Punjab Government officials, Indian Army officials also laid wreaths.

Leaders of various political parties, government officials, religious figures and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
