Mumbai: At least seven killed and 15 people sustained burn injuries, three of them seriously, in a major fire that broke out on 18th floor in Tardeo area in central Mumbai on Saturday morning.
According to the information, two persons were brought dead to the hospital and five succumbed later while many are stated to be critical.
As per the information, fire broke out around 7am in Kamla building located near Gandhi hospital at Gowalia Tank, which is a 20-plus storey building.
After receiving the information, fire brigade officials and police personnel rushed to the spot and at least 13 fire engines, 7 watee jetties among others engaged in the rescue operation.
Officials said that it was tagged as a level-3 (major) fire and two died around 15 people were injured who are undergoing treatment in nearby private hospital.
Meanwhile, firefighting and rescue operation is still on.
