New Delhi: Two months after joining BJP, Raebareli MLA Aditi Singh on Thursday finally tendered her resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The timing of Singh’s resignation letter is crucial as the UP polls are only three weeks away. She has announced her resignation, on social media, as party member and MLA in two separate letters addressed to Congress.

Raebareli seat is a Congress bastion that the BJP has not been able to breach until now.

Singh, 34, was first elected as MLA in 2017 and she is the daughter of five-time MLA late Akhilesh Singh. Her husband is Congress MLA Angad Singh Saini from Nawanshahr, Punjab.
