Faridkot: Ahead of the Punjab Assembly polls, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Punjab Police on Thursday presented a supplementary chargesheet against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and nine Dera followers in a Faridkot court.
The FIR was presented in the June 2015 case where ‘bir’ of Guru Granth Sahib was stolen from Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village and on Punjab and Haryana High Court directions, SIT has incorporated evidence collected by CBI in the case.
Earlier, a chargesheet was filed in July 2020 by then SIT head DIG RS Khatra but it was replaced after the accused moved the HC challenging the SIT probe.
