Washington: After wreaking havoc in Cuba, the fierce storm ‘Ian’ has made a strong hit in the US state of Florida. Hurricane Ian made landfall on Florida’s southwestern coast on Wednesday as a Monster-4 category with powerful winds and torrential rain.
This has submerged the roads there and many cars have been washed away in it. There are reports of massive damage in Florida from the “devastating” storm.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has said that ‘Ian’ hit the Florida coast at a speed of 240 kilometers per hour. It was raining there even before the storm hit. Due to the collision of the storm, there has been a flood situation in the “Florida Peninsula”. Terrible scenes of the devastating storm have been seen on TV.
The storm is expected to affect millions of people across Florida and the southeastern states of Georgia and South Carolina.
Meanwhile, the US Border Patrol said 20 migrants were missing after the boat sank. In The Florida Keys, the Coast Guard has rescued four Cubans and three others who survived swimming in the sea.
“This storm is going to be a giant, which we will talk about for many years to come,” said Ken Graham, director of the National Weather Service.
