New Delhi: Monkeypox cases have started to rise in many countries across the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) said 257 cases have been confirmed in 23 countries according to data as of Thursday. With this, 120 suspected cases have been reported. These are all the countries where ‘monkeypox’ is not commonly found. The World Health Organization said that in five African countries where ‘monkeypox’ is commonly found, 1365 cases and 69 deaths have been recorded.
These cases have been found at different times between December and May. No death has been recorded so far due to ‘monkeypox’ in 23 countries. Peaulo Sileri, under secretary of the Italian Ministry of Health, said there have been 20 cases of ‘monkeypox’ in Italy and specialists at different locations.
