JALANDHAR: In order to give a fillip to vaccination in the district, the District Administration has identified as many as 271 schools to organise special vaccination camps for beneficiaries of 15 to 17 years of age group.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the Administration in association with the Health Department these camps would remain in process till February 7 under the supervision of SMOs in all 11 blocks. All the eligible students can get themselves vaccinated in these camps, said he adding that the health teams would be available all these sites for stipulated time to administer the doses. Besides, students their teachers can also be provided the facility of vaccination for due dose and the eligible beneficiaries of the areas will also be given due doses.
The Administration has also set a daily target of 3000 doses during these camps to be held in school premises, for which nodal officers are appointed to ensure coordination between schools principals and health teams. Thori said this step is aimed at covering maximum eligible beneficiaries including students at their nearest session sites. He also appealed to the eligible students to come forward for vaccination, which is necessary in larger public interest.
