Advice from the Ministry of Health

Amid rising cases of monkeypox, the Union Health Ministry today released a list related to ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’ to avoid the pandemic.

The ministry said that the infected person should be kept away from other persons to avoid infection. Apart from this, the use of hand sanitizers, washing hands with soap and water, wearing masks and wearing gloves are some of the measures that can be used to avoid the disease, it said.

The ministry said sharing of handkerchiefs, beds, clothes, towels and other items with people who have been found to be infected should be avoided.

It also advised patients and non-infected individuals not to wash dirty clothes together and avoid going to public events. The ministry said, “Do not discriminate against infected and suspected patients. Don’t believe any rumors or misinformation.”
