New Delhi: Ahead of T20 World Cup 2021, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan and veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik said that experience of Indian Premier League (IPL) would help the current Indian squad to perform well in the tournament that will be held in the UAE and Oman.

Pathan said that fans have immense expectations from the Indian team that the will clinch the title once again like they did the the 2007 T20 WC under the leadership of former captain MS Dhoni in South Africa.

“I feel nobody expected anything from the 2007 team, but expectations are high from the current World Cup squad. Team played the 2007 T20 World Cup that hardly had the experience of playing in the T20 format but now they are a well experienced side and all players playing IPL and they play a lot of T20 games that will provide benefit in the tournament,” he said.

Echoing the words Karthik expounded that the team India were more adept at handling high pressure situations as compared to the 2007 T20 WC winning squad.
