Badals buses impounded; High court issues notice to Transport Minister

Chandigarh: On a petition filed against the cancelled route permits of New Deep bus Service owned by Hardeep Singh Dhillon , the court of Justice Sh. Ajay Tiwari and Justice Sh. Pankaj Jain issued notice to Punjab transport department as well as to minister Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

After hearing, court issued notice to State of Punjab, transport department andCabinet Minister. Next date of hearing not fixed yet.

The New Deep Bus Services through Hardeep Singh Dhillon has filed a petition in high court for seeking quashing the orders dated 12.11.2021 whereby the permits granted to the petitioners have been cancelled, illegally, arbitrarily and with mala fide intent in purported exercise of powers under clause (b) of Sub Section (2) of Section 103 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.

Petitioner also seeking that during the pendency of the present writ petition the operation, implementation and execution of the impugned orders dated 12.11.2021 and/or any other coercive measures for recovery of the alleged tax may kindly be stayed. Petitioner further prayed that During the pendency of the present writ petition, the impounded buses of the petitioners may be ordered to be released unconditionally.

Petitioner alleged that state transport department took action due to politically vendetta and direction of Amrinder Singh Raja Warring transport Minister.
