New Delhi: Farmers have started dispersing from the protest sites in Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders of Delhi since Thursday evening. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha expects that by Sunday, the three highways that connect Delhi with Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh will be cleared after nearly 13 months of protests by farmers demanding the repeal of three farm reform laws.

Large parts of the Singhu border protest site lay vacant on Friday after a number of farmers bundled up their belongings and headed home on tractors, while others worked long hours to dismantle the makeshift accommodations they built painstakingly over the last year.

Tractors bedecked with colourful lights rolled out of the protest site blaring songs of victory. The elderly flaunted their colourful turbans and danced with the youngsters.

Farmers have been agitating against three black farm laws enacted by Centre government for over past one year. The government had repealed these laws and also accepted others demands of the farmers including cancellation of FIRs against farmers.
