Bulli Bai App case, Bengaluru student arrested, Uttarakhand woman detained

Mumbai: Cyber police of Mumbai have detained a woman, believed to be mastermind behind ‘Bulli Bai’ app case, from Uttarakhand, on Tuesday.

Police also arrested an engineering student, identified as Vishal Kumar, from Bengaluru, from Bengaluru in the case, officials said.

Police had filed a case against unidentified persons following complaints that photographs of Muslim women were uploaded for ‘auction’ on the app hosted by GitHub platform.

During the investigation, Mumbai cyber police detained a woman from Uttarakhand, however, police refused to divulge any further details.

Both the persons are known to each other, the official said, adding that further probe into the case is underway.

Hundreds of Muslim women were listed for ‘auction’ on the ‘Bulli Bai’ app with photographs, which triggered a row across the country.
