Amid remark row, Mohammad Mustafa gets notice from ECI

Chandigarh: Amid the controversy over the alleged remarks against a particular Community during a rally on Thursday, Elections Commission has issued notice to retired Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa, for holding poll event in support of his wife without permission.

Addressing gathering in support of her wife Razia Sultan, who is the Congress candidate from Malerkotla, he allegedly issued threats against the a particular community and the video of the speach went viral which has been criticised by opposition leaders, seeking action against him for trying to disturb communal harmony.

He reportedly threatened to beat the AAP workers and said, “My ‘jalsa’ was scheduled here but AAP leaders tried to create nuisance. If it happens again, I swear, I will not let them gather.”
