Chandigarh: In a major set back to Congress, sitting Amritsar sitting Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu has joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in presence of party convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday.
The Punjab is going to polls on February 20 and it is a huge blow to ruling party as AAP is in direct contest with Congress in the elections.
After joining the party, mayor said that if the AAP forms the government, they would development the holy city to boost tourism.
