Chandigarh: A day after Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s contentious statement against migrants, opposition has lashed out at Congress and Priyanka Gandhi.

Channi landed himself in controversy after his speech on February 15 in presence of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at Rupnagar.

During the campaign Gandhi said that she doesn’t want to issue big statements, but the people of Punjab must identity their sisters, brothers, who are in front of them.

After Priyanka’s statement, CM Channi said,” Lets get together Punjabis. Bhaiyyas from UP, Bihar want to come here and rule, they will not be allowed to enter the state. Why will outsider rule Punjab,” he said.

After Channi’s statement, Priyanka Gandhi raised her hand and started clapping. The video has gone viral on social media as opposition attack Priyanka for her alleged double standards as she was campaigning under slogan Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon’ campaign.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Days after her brother sermonized us on diversity & ‘spirit of India’, albeit brazenly ignoring North East, Smt Priyanka Gandhi is seen cheering Punjab CM Sri Charanjit S Channi on his despicable comments against people of Bihar & UP!

Hypocrisy & politics of tukde tukde at best.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that It is very shameful and AAP strongly condemn comments aimed at any individual or any particular community. Priyanka Gandhi also belongs to UP so she is also a ‘bhaiya’.
