Ottawa: Following a ban by many countries including UK, US, Australia and New Zealand on Chinese firms, Canada has also announced the ban on China’s Huawei and ZTE from its 5G networks.
These two biggest telecoms equipment manufacturers banned by Canada, said country’s telecom minister Francois-Philippe Champagne.
He said that Canada’s mobile internet services will be improved and the move is aimed at protection, safety and security of Canadians, Minister said.
Meanwhile, company officials said that they are disappointed by the decision and termed the move political.
