US confirms 9 monkeypox cases, 200 reported across world: WHO

Washington: The monkeypox disease has spread in more than 20 countries around the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 200 cases of monkeypox have been confirmed. Over 100 suspected cases of monkeypox has also been detected in various nations.

The increase in monkeypox cases in many countries of the world has increased the anxiety among the people.

The United States (US) has confirmed nine cases of Monkeypox. Apart from the US, monkeypox cases have also been reported in some non-endemic countries including the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Australia, Canada, Austria, Israel and Switzerland. The European Union has confirmed 118 cases of monkeypox. The United Kingdom has confirmed 90 cases while the US has confirmed nine cases of Monkeypox.
