Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab will present its maiden budget for the financial year 2022-23 on June 27. The budget to be presented by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema will give priority to the health and education sector and it is expected that the government will not burden the people of Punjab with new taxes.
The budget session will be telecast live on electronic media.
The Aam Aadmi Party had given several guarantees to the people of Punjab ahead of the assembly elections due to which people have high expectations from the AAP government. According to the information received, the government may increase the education budget by 30 to 40 per cent and the health budget will also be increased so that mohalla clinics can be opened in the state and dispensaries and other health facilities can be improved.
Apart from this, special provision can also be made in the budget for the 300 unit free power scheme to be launched by the government in the state from July 1.
