Over Rs 1.78 crore found in Sri Lankan presidential residence; ‘We stand with Sri Lanka people’ says India

New Delhi: Protesters who occupied the official residence of Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Sri Lanka claim that they found 1.78 crore in the premises.

A video is being shared on social media, in which protesters are sitting on the ground and counting several cartons of currency notes.

The local media reports said that the recovered money was said to have been handed over to the security forces. According to the report, the administration has informed that they will review all the facts and apprise them about the situation on the ground.

Apart from this, a high-security high-security bunker is also being found in the president’s residence. Protesters have been occupying the president’s residence since they entered the presidential residence on Saturday. There are reports that they have sifted through the entire building and are roaming around the entire premises.

Meanwhile, India has said that they stand with the Sri Lankan people. At the same time, India has asked the people of Sri Lanka to have faith in a democratic system.
