Jerusalem: Ahead of the first high-level meeting of the ‘I2U2’ group on Thursday, Israel’s former national security adviser said India’s partnership in the group could prove to be a flip-flop. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also participate virtually in the meeting. The group includes India, Israel, UAE and the US.

The group was set up in October 2021 on the initiative of foreign ministers of the four countries. India can also help expand the scope of the Abraham agreements by including new countries, said Major General Yakov Amidor, former National Security Adviser to Israel. India has the ability to explain to other countries by saying that it is in the interest of the world.

He said that in this new group, Israel is a bridge connecting Europe and India is a major trading partner in the entire context. In that sense, the decision could be historic. The virtual meeting will also be attended by Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, US President Joe Biden and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed.
