Elizabeth May set to join Green Party leadership race

Ottawa: Elizabeth May of the Green Party, after a hiatus, is planning to run for federal leadership once again.

May ran the party between 2006, and 2019. She, later resigned as she promised to her daughter to not remain in active politics, sources said.

However, party sources said that May is proposing to share responsibilities with co-leader with Jonathan Pedneault this time.

When contacted May by media for a comment, she said she can “neither confirm or deny.” reports until August 31 when candidates are announced.

Earlier, the Green Party has faced harsh criticism over its strict rules for the race.
