3 AK-47 rifles and bullets recovered from abandoned boat in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Three AK-47 rifles and bullets were recovered in a boat off the Raigad coast of Maharashtra today, police said. In the Srivardhan area, located more than 190 km from Mumbai, some locals spotted the boat, which had none of them, and alerted security agencies.

Raigad SP Ashok Dudhe and other senior officials rushed to the spot and searched the boat.

Three AK-47 rifles and some bullets were recovered from the boat.

According to officials, the crew members of the boat were rescued off the coast of Oman in June this year. The boat swam to the Raigad coast, police said. Meanwhile, state Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told the Assembly that the boat belonged to an Australian woman.
