Kurukshetra: The body of a youth, who was missing for two days, has been recovered from a canal in Gorkha village in Kurukshetra, Haryana.

The deceased, 23-year-old Deepak, was reportedly mentally upset after being ‘delayed’ Canadian visa and allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the canal. The visa came a day after his death. A relative said that after completing his graduation degree, he wanted to study in Canada and settle there.

He had applied for a visa for a long time to go abroad and that is why he was upset, locals told to the police.

Police suspect that Vikesh Saini alias Deepak of Gorkha village in Shahbad sub-division committed suicide by jumping into a canal near Jansa town. His friend had already got a student visa, while he had not got it, so he was upset.

Meanwhile, he was survived by his parents, a brother and two sisters. His father has a government job.
