Liz Truss takes over as Britain’s Prime Minister

London: New Conservative party leader Liz Truss took over as prime minister on Wednesday following a formal invitation from Queen Elizabeth II to form the government. Truss met the Queen at Balmoral Castle today, where he was formally appointed britain’s new prime minister.

Truss is the 15th Prime Minister to run the government in the palace of Queen Elizabeth II. Winston Churchill was the first Prime Minister on this list to take office in 1952.
