Gold worth Rs 36 lakh seized from traveller at Sri Guru Ram Dass International Airport

Amritsar: Gold worth Rs 36 lakh was recovered from a passenger at The Sri Guru Ram Dass International Airport in Amritsar today and a passenger was taken into custody, police said.

During checking, 690 grams of gold was recovered from a SpiceJet flight from Dubai.

The passenger had hidden the gold capsules in a private organ.

During the search and interrogation, the passenger confessed to having hidden two capsules of gold in the rectum. The value of this gold is about Rs 36 lakh. The police have arrested the passenger and started further investigation into the matter.
