Los Angeles: A resident of Los Angeles County has died of monkeypox, Local health officials said on Monday.
This is stated to be the first case of death due to monkeypox in the US. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said monkeypox caused the death, and a spokesman said the autopsy confirmed it.
