Winnipeg: Two candidates have already become unopposed councillors ahead of the October 26 Winnipeg City Council elections. After the last date for withdrawal of nominations, Devi Sharma, councillor from Old Kildonan, and Marcus Chambers, councillor from St. Norbot Sea River, were re-elected councillors from their respective seats as none of the candidates filed papers against them.

Winnipeg voters will now elect only 13 of the 15 councillors on October 26. Devi Sharma said this is her fourth term in office. She has been a councillor of Old Kildonan for 12 years.
