New York Mayor Eric Adams attends Durga Puja celebrations, says it’s an honour

Washington: New York City Mayor Eric Adams attended the Durga Puja celebrations on Monday and emphasized on the message of this festival ‘Victory of good over evil’ and said that in these challenging times, everyone should appreciate it.

He was accompanied by Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner for International Affairs, New York City.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams tweeted: “Durga Puja celebrates the triumph of good over evil. That’s something we can all appreciate in these challenging times. What a joy and honor to join our city’s Bengali community in Queens tonight.”

Eric had participated in the Ganesh Rath Yatra ceremony of the North America Hindu Temple Society only last month. During this, he said that it was a very good experience. Durga Puja is being celebrated in the country between October 1 and October 5.
