Four Punjabis win Brampton City Council election

Brampton: Four Punjabis emerged victorious in the municipal elections of Brampton City, considered to be a stronghold of Punjabis.

According to the information received, Navjit Kaur Brar has won the election as city councillor from ward 2 and 6 and Harkirat Singh from ward 9 and 10, while Gurpartap Singh Toor has been elected regional councillor from ward 9 and 10.

Similarly, journalist Satpal Johal has become a trustee of peel school board from ward number 9 and 10.

Brampton City Council elects five city councillors, five regional councillors and five school trustees. Patrick Brown has been elected mayor for the second time by defeating two Punjabis Nikki Kaur and Bob Dosanjh.
