Violent protests break out at China’s largest iPhone factory

New Delhi: There have been reports of violent protests by workers at the world’s largest Apple iPhone factory located in China. The protest was carried out by employees of foxconn factory in Zhengzhou, China’s Henan province.

There is resentment among these employees of the factory about strict Covid-19 restrictions and non-payment of salaries. The employees are disgruntled over rapid spread of corona infection.

Foxconn is the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer assembling gadgets for several international brands, including Apple. Foxconn’s factory assembles Apple’s iPhone 14 launched in September.

Many videos of the protest by the employees of Foxcon Factory are becoming increasingly viral on social media. Videos that have gone viral on social media show dozens of employees protesting on the road and shouting slogans. Anti-riot police are also seen stationed there and employees are also clashing with policemen.
