Earthquake of magnitude 5.9 hits Turkey again today, over 4000 die

New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt again in Turkey on Tuesday. The earthquake measured 5.9 on the Richter scale. A powerful earthquake has caused severe devastation in Turkey and Syria.

More than 4,000 people were killed and thousands injured when a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and neighbouring Syria on Monday, officials said.

Thousands of buildings have suffered heavy damage due to the earthquake. Even many buildings were completely reduced to rubble. However, the number of casualties is still expected to increase as rescuers are still searching for people trapped under the debris in the affected areas.

On Monday, the first earthquake of magnitude 7.8 occurred. After which there were two more strong tremors of earthquake, whose intensity was 7.6 and 6.0 respectively. Today again the tremors of the earthquake have scared people badly.
