Disproportionate assets case: Former Congress minister Dharamsot sent to three-day police custody

Chandigarh: Former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, who was arrested Dharamsot on Monday, sent to three-day police custody in disproportionate assets case by a Mohali court on Tuesday.

This is not the first case of arrest of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. Earlier, he was arrested in the forest scam case.

Sadhu Singh Dharamsot will be produced before a Mohali court today and vigilance will seek his custody for further investigation.

The vigilance officer wants to get more property details. Investigation so far has revealed that during the period from March 1, 2016 to March 31, 2022, the income of Dharamsot and his family was Rs 2,37,12,596, while the expenditure was Rs 8,76,30,888. Of this, Rs 6.39 crore is 269 per cent more than his known sources of income.

Dharamsot’s second scam was the forest department scam in which he has been arrested and is out on bail. The name of Sangat Singh Gilzian also came up along with him in this scam. Dharamsot is accused of taking a bribe of Rs 500 in exchange for cutting a tree.

This revealed that he had taken about Rs 1.25 crore bribes. After which vigilance arrested him from his house in Amloh. Sangat Singh Giljian is also an accused in the same case.
