New Delhi: A war is going on between paramilitary forces and the army in Sudan’s capital Khartoum. An Indian has also been killed in this attack. After this, the Indian Mission in Sudan has advised Indians living there to be cautious.

India is in touch and coordination with many countries for the safety of Indians living in Sudan. The External Affairs Minister has spoken to the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and UAE. India is also in touch with the US and the UK.

At the same time, there is a Twitter war between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Congress leader Siddaramaiah over his statement on 31 tribals of Karnataka stranded in crisis-hit Sudan.

Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah accused the government of inaction in bringing back people from the tribal community stranded in Sudan to India. After this, a heated debate started between the two leaders. “Hakki Pikkis in Sudan are left stranded without food since the last few days & the govt is yet to initiate action to bring them back. BJP govt should immediately open diplomatic discussions & reach out to international agencies to ensure the well-being of Hakki Pikkis, ” Siddaramaiah claimed.

“I don’t think you will gain any political advantage by making such statements. You are putting Indians stranded abroad in more danger with such statements,”S Jaishankar said adding that the Indian Embassy is making all possible efforts to evacuate the stranded people safely. We are keeping an eye on every incident.

Significantly, in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, paramilitary forces and regular forces started attacking each other’s positions a few days ago.

After this, the Indian mission in Sudan advised Indians living there to stay indoors. In a tweet, the Indian Embassy in Khartoum had said that in the wake of reports of firing and clashes, all Indians are advised to exercise extreme caution, stay indoors and avoid venturing out with immediate effect.

“Please stay calm and wait for updates. Along with this, it was said by the Indian mission that Indians who are planning to go to Sudan to make efforts evacuate stranded people.”
