Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today described as “ traumatic, deeply disturbing and unforgivable” the sacrilege incident at Gurudwara Kotwali Sahib in Morinda.
In a statement here , Sukhbir Badal said “the painful development smacks of a devious ploy by the badly cornered AAP govt to deflect attention from the ‘arrest’ yesterday of AmritpalSingh as well as from the state repression let loose against innocent Sikhs. It could also be an attempt to cover up the government’s failure to maintain peace and communal harmony in Punjab. Ironically, these shameful acts merely highlight that failure even further”, he added.
Badal said that he and his party demand that the real masterminds behind the sacrilege conspiracy need to be identified and given examplary punishment.
