Vancouver: The Toronto Police Service (TPS) is requesting the public’s assistance to  identify a woman, wanted in a suspected hate-motivated mischief investigation.

According to police release, between Thursday, July 3, 2025, and Sunday, December 21, 2025, officers responded to numerous calls for reports of graffiti at various TTC stations. It was reported that the suspect attended the stations and vandalized property by writing anti-India messaging within the stations and on subway cars.

On December 21, the female suspect was described as wearing earmuffs, a long black coat, brown boots, and a white/brown scarf. To help residents identify, an image of the suspect has been released.

“This investigation is being treated as a suspected hate-motivated offence. When suspected hate-motivated offences are reported to police, the investigation is led by the Hate Crime Unit (HCU). If a person is charged and convicted of the offence, the Judge will take into consideration hate as an aggravating factor when imposing a sentence. Wilful promotion of hatred and advocating genocide are hate propaganda (hate speech) offences and  require the Attorney General’s consent to lay charges. These charges are often laid at a later time.”
