Ottawa: A 32-year-old man from Kitchener, Ont. Is facing charges for threatening Liberal leader Justin Trudeau last month during the campaign.
Due to the protest, which was attended by over 150 people, Trudeau had to delay his appearance on August 29.
According to Waterloo Regional Police Service, protestors raised slogans and uttered death threats against Trudeau.
Earlier, police had not confirmed any arrest or charges filed against anyone in this matter.
But two days after the protest, police began the investigation and on Friday, they arrested the Kitchener man after charging him with two counts of uttering threats.
Trudeau had said that he will not back down with these protests and death threats, racist and sexist slurs.
