Chandigarh: The Chief Minister Charanjit Channi has met the Punjab governor and the oath-taking ceremony of his new cabinet will take place at 4.30 pm on Sunday.
With the CM and Deputy CMs Sukhjinder Randhawa and OP Soni already having taken oath, 15 more ministers will be sworn in on Sunday.
Channi met Governor Banwarilal Purohit here on Saturday afternoon who told him that the oath ceremony would take place on Sunday evening.
In the meeting which held in the decided to drop former Health Minister Balbir Sidhu, Revenue Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora, Social Welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi from the cabinet. The Congress, however, decided to re-induct former Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh in the cabinet.
