Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today sacked Health Minister Vijay Singla over corruption charges. The chief minister said the health minister was involved in corruption cases and he had evidence against him.
Chief minister Bhagwant Mann said Singla has been removed from the post of minister on charges of demanding one per cent commission on contract from officials.
At the same time the government has ordered legal action against Singla. The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has taken the first major action against corruption. Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had sacked his minister in 2015 in a bribery case. CM Mann said corruption will not be tolerated in Punjab and strict action will be taken against anyone who demands bribe.
