Islamabad: Pakistan’s investigative agency federal investigation agency (FIA) has put its immigration staff on high alert at all international airports with a directive to prohibit any government official associated with Imran Khan’s regime from travelling abroad without objection.
The move comes hours after Prime Minister Imran Khan was removed through a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament, media reports said.
The airport security force has also been put on high alert, the report said, adding that screening of passengers travelling abroad has been accelerated.
The airport officials said that they got instructions from higher authorities to stay alert and not to allow any government official from leaving the country without an NOC.
