Akal Takht to hold prayers for 10 lakh Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims killed during Partition in 1947

Amritsar: In the memory of 10 lakh Punjabis who were killed in 1947 at the time of partition, this time on August 16, the bhog of Akhand Path will be performed at the Akal Takht.In this regard, Akhand Path will be held at Akal Takht on August 14.

This is for the first time in 75 years after partition that Punjabis including Sikhs, Muslims and Hindus who were killed during partition are being remembered at the Akal Takht.

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has also issued a message in this regard to the Sikh community.

In his message, he has appealed to the affected families of the partition to reach the Akal Takht on this occasion. He has also appealed to the Hindu families affected at the time of Partition to offer prayers to the departed souls at their religious places in this regard.
