Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has dissolved the entire organisational structure of the party in pursuance of the recommendations of the party’s poll review committee.
According to the party spokesperson, all the committees including the core committee have been dissolved in which the working committee, all the office bearers and all other wings have also been dissolved.
It may be recalled that the previous day the core committee of the Shiromani Akali Dal had discussed and accepted the report of the poll Committee and had also authorised party president Sukhbir Singh Badal to implement the recommendations.
The Committee had recommended that the organisational structure of the party should be dissolved and rebuilt and a new spirit should be instilled in the party in accordance with the values other than panthic and Punjabi interests and in doing so, the sentiments of the lower level workers, cadre and leadership of the party should be taken care of.
The committee had recommended that the organisational structure of the party be restructured afresh to infuse a new spirit into the party. The recommendations emphasised the need to pay special attention to the aspirations of the youth. The party president will now hold consultations with senior colleagues as well as workers and cadre to restructure the party’s organisational structure.
Badal will hold consultations with various Punjabi and Panthic personalities, especially intellectuals, writers, religious and political speakers, opinion makers and representatives of various sections, including farmers, employees, students, teachers, traders, goldsmiths and youth.
