Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal’s disciplinary committee, which was established after the dissolution of all the wings and committees of the Akali Dal, held its first meeting here today and warned the leaders who gave public statements of action.
In the disciplinary committee meeting under the leadership of Sikandar Singh Maluka, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Mantar Singh Brar and Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi held. During the meeting, a serious discussion was held regarding maintaining discipline within the party. Meanwhile, it was decided that any kind of anti-party activity will not be tolerated by the Disciplinary Committee and strict action will be taken against it.
Maluka said that no organization can move forward without discipline and anyone who goes outside the party and speaks against the party, only aims to weaken the power of the party.
He said that the committee has scrutinized some complaints of party indiscipline received in the past and this work will continue in the next meetings as well. If the committee feels that there is a need for action against someone, first he will be given an opportunity to present his side by issuing a notice and if the response is not satisfactory, further action will be taken.
He also appealed to the district and circle units of the party to inform the committee if any anti-party activity comes to their notice.
