New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal and his wife, Lok Sabha lawmaker Harsmirat Kaur Badal among several leaders have been detained by the Delhi Police for holding a protest against three-farm bills here on Friday.
As the nation marked one year of the black Farm Laws, Akali Dal held protest in the national capital as ‘Black Day’ .
Following this, they were detained and taken to Sansad Marg Police Station, according to sources.
Badal, while holding the protest, accused Modi-led BJP government and Haryana government of stopping SAD workers.
He said, “BJP resorted to baton charge and broke our vehicles. Even though, our was a peaceful protest. Only Punjab but the entire country is against Narendra Modi government and three-farm bills,” he said.
