Washington: The U.S. has once again made a big attack against terrorism. The United States killed al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri in an air strike at 6:18 a.m. on Sunday in a secret operation as part of a counter-terrorism operation in Afghanistan.
President Joe Biden himself has confirmed this. Al-Zawahiri was killed in a drone strike by the CIA in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
The FBI has released a list of most wanted, in which al-Zawahiri has been declared dead. After the news of al-Zawahiri’s death came out two days later, US President Joe Biden said the al-Qaeda chief had “carved a path for murder and violence against American citizens”.
“Justice has now been done and it is no longer a terrorist leader,” he said, adding that Zawahiri was in the balcony of a safe house when the drone fired two missiles at him. He said other family members were present at the spot, but they were not harmed and only Zawahiri was killed.
