Amidst deteriorating law and order situation, Punjab gets third ADGP (Law and Order) in six months

Chandigarh: In the midst of deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, the third ADGP has been appointed in 6 months. The first Naresh Arora was ADGP Law and Order, who was changed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to Ishwar Singh. However, amidst the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, now Arpit Shukla has been posted as ADGP Law and Order.

The government transferred 54 IPS and PPS officers yesterday. Including ADGP Law and Order.

 

Post kept vacant for 7 days

Dr. Naresh Arora was appointed by the then Congress government in December. When there was a lapse in the security of PM Narendra Modi, Naresh was the ADGP Law and Order. After this Aam Aadmi Party came to power. He replaced Naresh Arora on 21 May. This post remained vacant for about 7 days. Meanwhile, on May 29, singer Sidhu Moosewala was murdered. On May 31, Ishwar Singh was posted as ADGP Law and Order. He had served in this position in the government of Akali Dal and Congress. Despite this, the incidents in Punjab did not stop. Yesterday the government also changed Ishwar Singh and now gave this charge to Arpit Shukla.

IG also appointed in law and order

The AAP government has also appointed IG Shiv Kumar Verma in Law and Order. He was till now the IG of Bathinda Range. Apart from them, Kaustubh Sharma has now been given additional charge of Police Commissioner Ludhiana by giving the charge of IG Human Rights. While ADGP Ishwar Singh will be ADGP HRD and Welfare. Shashi Prabha Dwivedi has been posted as ADGP Railway, Praveen Sinha as ADGP Cyber Crime.
