Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to review the law and order situation here on Saturday. It is his maiden visit to the valley after scrapping the Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir state into Union Territories on August 5, 2019.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and local officials of the Jammu and Kashmir administration received Shah at Srinagar airport.
Shah would chair a high-level security review meeting with officials while also launch the inaugural Srinagar-Sharjah flight today.

Security was beefed up across Kashmir ahead of Shah’s visit to the valley. Additional deployment of security forces had been made across the valley, the officials said.
Meanwhile, due to his visit the security apparatus had been beefed up, especially in the city here.
