Among other items, PM Trudeau gets 17 portraits of himself as gifts: analysis

Ottawa: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been offered myriad of gifts including his own likeness around 17 times since he became PM in 2015.

According to the information, apart from his portraits and photos, PM also received many vases, wine bottles and Star Wars paraphernalia among over 400 gifts worth $200.

This information has been disclosed by Trudeau to the federal ethics commissioner since late 2015.

Chinese President Xi Jinping gifted a portrait seal and a painting on goat skin was given by Ethiopia PM Abiy Ahmed Ali. The former US President Barack Obama, and cut-outs of him and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, both given by Canadian artists.

Likewise, a 3D crystal collage of Trudeau and family was among many pictures gifted to him by various world leaders.
